"I  trained at New Pathways where I gained my experience of working with people who are suffering with the long term effects of mental, emotional, physical and sexual abuse."

  • Diploma in Engaging with Adults who have been sexually abused

  • ASIST Suicide Training

  • Mental Health First Aid

This is an agency that helps people who have been raped or sexually abused. I believe I was attracted to this field of counselling because of my life experiences, and have worked with women from all backgrounds who have been through extraordinarily difficult times.

During my time there I became very aware that men are also abused and suffer just as much. It isn't something that is widely regarded as with women, however, it is equally damaging. I welcome male and female clients equally.

Being in a relationship with an abuser is like psychological warfare, if you're told you're rubbish enough times you start believing it.

Your abuser has systematically chipped away at you until you're a shell of your former self. Please don't despair - you're in there somewhere and you have survived all the mental, psychological, verbal, physical and sexual abuse.
